Mentoring
Mentoring a first-year Nutrition and Dietetics student and supporting them in their transition into university life. Through regular video chat and in-person meetings, we engaged in discussions about their concerns, questions, and challenges.
Building a Supportive Connection: Allowed us to establish a supportive connection. By creating a safe and open space for discussion, I aimed to provide guidance and understanding as they navigated the initial stages of their academic journey. Sharing Insight and Experience: One of the primary roles as a mentor was to offer insight into the progress within the Nutrition and Dietetics degree and help the student transition through challenges they encountered. Addressing Concerns and General Questions: I actively listened to the student's concerns and general questions, providing guidance and reassurance. Personal and Professional Development: Mentoring a first-year student allowed me to enhance my own personal and professional development.
